Microfauna

Microfauna (Ancient Greek mikros + New Latin fauna ) refers to microscopic animals and organisms that exhibit animal-like qualities. Microfauna are represented in the animal kingdom (e.g., nematodes, small arthropods) and the protist kingdom (i.e., protozoans).
